Liars

Why must people lie?

I received an application from someone for one of the puppies I have up for adoption. They were completing the application for their Aunt and Uncle. They wanted to get a puppy for them for Christmas. I emailed them back and said that we do not adopt out our dogs / puppies as Christmas gifts. They are more then welcome to have their Aunt and Uncle complete the application and assuming they are approved complete the adoption paper work and she could pay the adoption fee. However, the person that signs the adoption contact has to be the real owner.

The girl emailed me back saying that she will just lie on the applications from now on that it is a GIFT so why would they tell them. Their family has 10 dogs in it and they know what it means to own a dog.

WOW 10 dogs, I am sorry I didn't realize you were a dog expert. WOW 10 dogs that is so many.... IDIOT! I have 10 dogs that live at my house, 10 dogs aint shit sweet heart!

I emailed her back and said that lying wouldn't be in her best interest because the adoption contract that she will sign to adopt a puppy is a legally binding contact and she could end up in legal trouble should the rescue do a check on the dog once in the home. WHICH I DO YEARLY!!!
so......

I thought of it later and I should of said and your mature response only solidifies that we have made the right choice in NOT processing this application.

People amaze me

I completely agree with you. I would hate to see a dog go to someone so immature. What if her Aunt and Uncle didn't want another dog? It's sad to see any dog not have a home and people to love it, but I think some people should have to pass a test before they can have any animal.

I agree about having to take a test! I run into so many bad dog owners. It is sad for a dog to not have a family, but as a pit bull owner we can't have other bad owners out there ruining the breed image and potentially endangering someone else and/or their pet. People can be very irresponsible.

I know what you mean. I have always said it's the owner not the breed. That's like judging a book based off the movie. I have spent years around dogs and it annoys me that people judge a dog based off of it's breed. It's not the breeds fault they had bad owners. I tell my husband all the time if we ever win a million dollars we are going to adopt all the doggies out there and send all the bad dog owners to the pound.
