And the Pit Bull is....

#1 Is Red. He is a Boxer Lab mix and just a doll. Had a hard time adopting him out b/c he looked too much like a Pit Bull. Actually had a person email me saying she was sick of shelters calling Pit Bulls different type of mixes like boxers, labs, etc. She believed Pit Bulls should be placed up for adoption. IDIOT!

#2 Is Tyson. He was 5 weeks old when he was taken to the Cleveland City Kennel. They told the people that were bringing him there that he was a Pit Bull and would be immediately destroyed if they left him there... insert me.. he was adopted in 2009 and for the record is a Great Dane Lab mix.

#3 Is Petey. MY DOG! He is a German Shepard, Rotti, Shar Pei, Borzi mix according to his DNA test.

#4. Is Scout. My husband's new dog. According to his DNA test one of his parents was a GSD Pit Bull Mix.

LOL!! I guess if we lived in Lakewood Ohio we wouldn't be allowed to have Scout.

Woo Hoo I was right :) I have a dog with PB in her. When we rescued her, people were calling her Lab/Boxer and to make a long story short, it was for her own saftey as they knew what could have happened, in her situation, had PB been stated. She is a LOVER and wouldn't hurt a fly. She crys to sleep with my niece and nephew when they spend the night. She LOVES LOVES LOVES kids.

The sad thing is that it is not the breed the dog is...but the way that they are raised....for all the "mean" dogs out there...there is an a$$hole who teaches(or forces) them to be that way....can't we just put the stupid person to sleep instead of the dog? Wouldn't it make life easier for many? we adopted our two dogs from the humane society....and love them to death...they could have pit in them..our first...Candy picked out Grandpa first...then my husband....then me...i was last on the totem pole! Adopted dogs are the most amazing gift...i often wonder how their lives were before...but only happy to make sure they have the most amazing home for the rest of their lives

Amy - What service do you use for DNA testing? Can you post the website or give name & price? One of our pups is a hodge podge of breeds, & it would be fun to find out which ones!

Well, at least they all have mixes that look pittish to people. Heh. I want to get our girl tested to find out if she's a pitty or not, I suspect she's got some in there, but it could also be some sort of hound.

wow..I wouldnt have guessed that..And its so insane how the society is (state/city)...Pit Bulls are such sweet loving loyal dogs..it IS the rotten people who get them to fight and make them mean..people need to read up and not judge..So sad...
