Crash UPDATE! ~ and stuff

Oh my Crash is SOOOOO FUNNY! Seriously who ever ends up adopting this dog is going to be SOOOOO HAPPY!! I just love him. He has been making real progress the last week.

He has been going outside to go potty since I got him home but the first week I had him he would do his business and then roll away. He really couldn't hold his own wait. Then he started standing, then he started walking around on 3 legs and now he walks with all 4 legs touching the ground.

Until Sunday he wasn't able to stand up on his own. When he was laying down he would cry and cry until you picked him up and put him on his feet. Then he was happy but on Sunday he was able to get himself up on all 4 legs. It was so cute!!

He has been playing fetch with a pink ball that squeaks. This just started this past week too. He would just lay in his bed and squeak it until you wanted to jump out of a window.. LOL!! But now he chases the ball. You can't make it go too far and you have to make sure he is facing the direction you are rolling it because he can't turn and run for it... although he thinks he can. LOL!!

Crash still needs to be neutered but I am going to wait a little bit longer because I want to make sure that his feeling better before I neuter the poor guy.. LOL!!

*********************

Well Regal went on a play date to a Fly Ball training. The lady that took her said she did real well. I hope that someone who is into do that kinda of stuff adopts her. She would love it.

I have Hamlet coming back today. His parents got a divorce :-( He was adopted out January 2008.

I do have a family coming over to see Quinn. And Razzel's foster home is talking to a guy in Columbus today about Razzel and if everything goes well he will come meet Razzel on Saturday.

Oakley went to the vet today b/c he still has soft poo. We put him on another supplement. Poor guy I think his stomach is messed up from being feed too much people food... My vet said it really isn't a big deal but if I am going to find him a home I want him to have nice healthy poop!

I think that is about it in dog rescue land!!

Please help me find a new home for my aggressive dog

I am writing this blog today mostly because in the last week I have received 5… yes 5 emails from people with dogs they want to re home because the dog bites / is aggressive. 5 times I have had to write the same email so I have decided to write this blog and when a person emails me about wanting to find a new home for their aggressive dog I will just send them this link to this post.

Dear Pet Owner,

I am sorry you are having problems with your dog. Let me start off by saying aggression is not a typical behavior of a Jack Russell. NONE of the dogs I adopt out have bitten someone and NONE of the dogs I adopt out show aggression towards people or other dogs. Any dog that comes into my rescue and either bites me, shows aggression towards other dogs or people while in my care or my foster homes care is humanely euthinized at my vet office. I will NOT and DO NOT adopt out dogs that I fear have the potential to bite someone or attack another dog. I am very strict with this policy.

For all the reasons you want to find a new home for your dog are all the reasons why no one else is going to want to adopt your dog. Also, if you re home your dog with a known bite history and the dog hurts someone you can be sued and lose EVERYTHING YOU OWN! Is it worth the risk of #1 someone getting hurt and #2 a huge legal battle?

I would not recommend taking your dog to the pound or shelter as the dog will more then likely end up being put to sleep by the pound / shelter. And I say put to sleep making it sound nice but it isn’t. Most shelters gas the dogs… gassing a dog means putting the dog and many other dogs in a small box about the size of your oven and filling the box with carbon dioxide. The dogs first go into total panic mode because they are trapped in a small area with a lot of other dogs. Sometimes they begin to fight with each. Then the dogs feel sick, then sleepy and then they die. Once they are dead they are put in plastic trash bags and thrown in the dumpster. Is this what you want for your loving pet??

If by some miracle of a chance your dog is not killed by the pound / shelter and is “adopted” by someone more then likely the dog will end up abused for his / her aggressive behavior. First an unsuspecting person / family will adopt the dog from the pound or shelter trying to do a good thing by saving a life. Instead they end up with an aggressive dog that hurts someone… could you live with yourself if you knew your dog hurt a child scaring them for life? That family will either abuse the dog, as they don’t understand why the dog is behaving this way. The dog will end up dieing a horrible death in pain from abuse or tied to a tree outside living year after year with little to no human contact while warm days turn to Ohio FREEZING nights over and over! Again, is this something you want for your beloved pet?

The other option is the dog is re homed again and again with his / her aggression getting worse with every new home. (Did you know bad behavior worsens with every change / move to a new home???) Finally the dog ends up in the hands of a dog fighter who will use the dog for live bait to teach his dogs to fight. People who fight dogs LOVE little dogs like Min Pin’s, JRT, even Chihuahua’s because they are small and feisty!

At this point you are mad at me and wondering why I am “TRYING” to scare you / make you feel guilty. I am not trying to do either. I am simply telling you the truth. So, please don’t email me and tell me how horrible I am… I am not the horrible person the people who do these things are!

Now for some solutions. You really only have two:

#1. Hire a trainer, have the dog evaluated and see if you can work with him / her. There is not some miracle cure and you will need to be in this for the long run, so if you are lazy just go straight to option two. You will need to listen to what the trainer says and STICK to the program. Your dog will NEVER EVER be fixed but you should with a good trainer and dedication on your part be able to manage your dog’s behavior.

#2. Humanely euthinize your dog. Spend the day with your dog, give him / her a McDonald’s hamburger and anything else he / she wants. Take him / her to the vet office and with a small needle prick let him / her die in your arms being loved and happy.

TRUST ME! Neither option is easy but these are your ONLY options. I have been in your shoes so please don’t email me and tell me I don’t understand because TRUST ME I do ALL TOO WELL. I had a Min Pin that I spent $2,000 on trying to help his aggression and actually made some good progress. The bad thing is I run a dog rescue and there are too many people and dogs in and out of my house. He was too unstable to live my crazy hectic life. I had to euthinize him. IF I didn’t run a dog rescue I would still have him.

I wish you luck in your decision. If you choose to go to a trainer feel free to email me and I can give you a trainer in your area. I know of one in Akron, one in Toledo and 2 in Cleveland that might be able to help you.

Getting a new puppy!! ~ so funny!!

Well, after two long years of being on a waiting list for an agility dog, we have been notified by the breeder that, at long last, our number has come up and ....WE ARE HAVING A PUPPY!!!

We must get rid of our children IMMEDIATELY because we just know how time consuming our new little puppy is going to be and it just wouldn't be fair to the children. Since our little puppy will be arriving on Monday, we MUST place the children this weekend! They are described as:

One male - His name is Tommy, Caucasian (English/Irish mix), light blonde hair, blue eyes. Four years old. Excellent disposition. He doesn't bite. Temperament tested. Does have problems with peeing directly in the toilet. Has had Chicken Pox and is current on all shots. Tonsils have already been removed. Tommy eats everything, is very clean, house trained & gets along well with others. Does not run with scissors and with a little training, he should be able to read soon.

One female - Her name is Lexie, Caucasian (English/Irish mix), strawberry blonde hair, green eyes quite freckled. Two years old. Can be surly at times. Non-biter, thumb sucker. Has been temperament tested but needs a little attitude adjusting occasionally. She is current on all shots, tonsils out, and is very healthy & can be affectionate. Gets along well with other little girls & little boys but does not like to share her toys and therefore would do best in a one child household. She is a very quick learner and is currently working on her house training - shouldn't take long at all.

We really do LOVE our children so much and want to do what's right for them; that is why we contacted a rescue group. But we simply can no longer keep them. Also, we are afraid that they may hurt our new puppy.

I hope you understand that ours is a UNIQUE situation and we have a real emergency here!!! They MUST be placed in rescue by Sunday night at the latest or we will be forced to drop them off at the orphanage or along some dark, country road. Our priority now has to be our new puppy.

Who needs a home?

So, some good news ALL the puppies and the mom dog from the hoarder have found a home. Yes you read that correctly all the puppies and mom dog are sleeping under a Christmas Tree and not chained to a dog house in the freezing cold weather. Can you believe that.... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Wooohoooooo!!

Also, Barney went HOME last night. :-) So excited. His family drove from Pittsburgh... 3 hours one way to get him and make sure he was home for Christmas.

Now I had a dilemma... I am debating if I should take a few dogs from my local pound. The pound is going to be closed Wednesday, Thursday & I think Friday. The dogs are going to get NO attention and will probably be sitting in their own waste and barely have enough to eat... I want to take a few out but I just don't know if I have the room. I would 100% take a few out if I knew Quinn was going to go home soon. I have two great applications for him but neither person has called me back :-( I will try them again in about an hour. I really hope I can find him a home for Christmas.

So, who is looking for a home?

Oakley - Toy Fox Terrier, 12 years old, housebroken, good with everyone and everything. He is old but in pretty good health. I REALLY need him in a home ASAP.

Regal - 2 year old Brittany Spaniel Mix that I have had since May. She is housebroken, electric fence trained and a good dog but too smart for her own good. She out smarts people so she needs a dog savvy person.

Crash - 4 year old JRT with broken pelvis. He actually can't really be adopted until I can get him neutered which will probably be the end of January. BUT he could go to a foster to adopt home. He is a REALLY good boy and has started walking around :-) He is housebroken and LOVES to play with a squeaky ball!!

Dottie - 3 year old female JRT. VERY small only 8 #'s. She was definitely abused but is learning to trust and is ALL SMILES :-)

Heuy - 1 year old male JRT. He is ALL energy and defiantly needs some training before he can be adopted. He goes tonight for his shots and we will wait till after the holidays to get him neutered. He is going to be a great dog for someone, he just needs a little training... he really isn't a bad dog just ALL PUPPY!!

Razzel - 1.5 year old JRT mix. He is a great dog. He likes other dogs, great with kids and has beautiful green eyes. He is housebroken! I have had him since August... he really needs a home for Christmas!!

Quinn - 1.5 year old JRT. HE IS AN AWESOME DOG!! Loves to play and would be awesome for someone with a few boys looking for a dog that will do everything with them. He is housebroken, good with other dogs. He is a REALLY nice JRT! I can't believe I still have him!

Normal Jack Russell behavior.

What does that really mean? I am so sick of people... either volunteers at shelters, other rescues or even people who have a JRT who want to give it up to our rescue saying things like "Well it is just normal JRT behavior" To those who have JRT's what do you think that means? Active? Smart? Spunky? Playful? Jumpy? Yea, that is what it means to me too but for the people writing / saying it I have learned that it means... aggressive. WHAT?????????

I am so sick of it. I just received ANOTHER email from someone today who has had their JRT since he was 6 weeks old (NEWS FLASH, puppies should NEVER EVER be separated from their mom until they are 8 weeks old...) he is now 7 years old and they need to give him up because he is a "typical JRT" When I ask them to explain what that means they say "aggressive with strangers." HUH??? I currently 5 JRT's living at my house not one is aggressive with strangers. And how many have I adopted out in the last 2 years.. anyone have an aggressive JRT that they got from me???

Just makes me so mad. Maybe your dog wouldn't be aggressive if you wouldn't have bought him from a back yard breeder and taken him from his mom at 6 weeks old. Maybe your dog wouldn't be aggressive if it wasn't in breed and you didn't let him run the house. UGH!! I really wish I could say that to people.

Other rescues kind of make me mad too because they will say things to me like... oh there is a JRT at the shelter, real nice, typical JRT. I will ask what does "typical JRT" mean... "oh you know aggressive with other dogs." WHAT?????? Since when is that typical... not acceptable at all!!

I have had other rescue friends say to me they won't take a JRT from the shelter because it takes too long to find them homes and they are so bad. I always tell them they LET THEM be bad that is why they are bad. It is funny to go on line and read the descriptions of the JRT's that other rescues have posted. You can tell who UNDERSTANDS JRT's and who has been out smarted by them.. LOL!!

There are two dogs posted on line and both say on their bio's "JRT are NOT good with kids, cats or other dogs. They are known for running aways, barking non stop and digging."

Ok, I love JRT's and I don't want either of those dogs after reading that bio.. LOL!!

Did you know that Beagles are pron to running away and barking non stop?? Did you know that Aussies and Boarder Collies are not normally good with kids?? I don't see bio's on them that say that... UGH!!!

I just had to vent because people get all wrapped up in stereo types and can't see pass them. Kind of like saying ALL Pit Bulls are aggressive dogs. Trust me they aren't. I have rescued and placed several. Heck one of them is pictured in yesterday's blog, sitting on a couch... he looks mean doesn't he.. LOL!!!

It isn't easy

Dog rescue isn't easy but I am sure lucky that my life is filled with friends, co - workers, acquaintances, those who have adopted from me, my vet office, etc. that understand it isn't easy. There are days I really wonder is it all worth it.... Wednesday and Thursday were one of those days.

I took the day off of work to put up Christmas decorations at my house and instead I drove around 6 puppies and their mom trying to save their lives. Would I do it again, YES! Would it have been a lot easier if the dog hoarder would have just let me have them in the first place and didn't have to run back and forth.. YES!

My stress levels were through the roof yesterday. I was just so overwhelmed.... so much to do and not enough hours in the day. Today I feel a lot better mostly b/c my wonderful fiance helped me out greatly and so did a volunteer named Kirsten. If it wasn't for them I might have just lost my mind.. wait I am in dog rescue my mind is already gone.. LOL!!

(Bob K. you better not be reading this while driving in this bad weather)
It is all worth is when I get wonderful emails with pictures attached like this:

Yes there is a dog in that pile of toys... look closely!!

I lied..

Ok, so I lied... just a white lie.. is there a such thing? What did I lie about it... it wasn't my idea.. LOL!!

I lied to the dog hoarder about how sick the puppies are. They are sick don't get me wrong but not as sick as I said. Anyways, it worked. I got all 6 puppies to safety. They are living at my friend June's and June has a BUNCH of people to come visit with them and they will have homes before the weekend is over.

Because the mom had to be on SO MANY medicines to get rid of ALL the worms... seriously gross... the dog hoarder said I can have her too. WOO HOOOO So, is it bad I lied?

I mean the puppies were / are sick with worms. I picked them up today an hour from my house (there were at the clinic getting shots). I put them in crates in my car and they pooped... it smelled so bad from all the worms my eyes were BURNING!!! BURNING, so gross. 1 hour in the car with that smell. I wanted to die. I was speeding and figured if a cop pulled me over and walked to the window he would give me a police escort to June's house... yes it was really that bad of a smell.. LOL!!

So, that is my craziness for the day.

CRASH UPDATE:

He is able to walk around a little. We put him outside today to go potty and he peed and then walked around (on three legs) the yard. HE IS SO CUTE!! He even walked from the back door to his bed.. YAY!!

My father doesn't think he was hit by a car but thrown out of a car just because his injuries are so weird.

Pray he keeps up the good progress.

Dog hoarder update and Crash update

I got the dogs from the Dog Hoarder last night. YIKES!! Mom is in really bad shape... honestly she is lucky I got her when I did. The babies have taken everything out of her. She is FULL of worms and so are the puppies. The puppies are not healthy at all... and to top it off, they SOLD 3 of them for $50 a piece. So, they want them back. Now what am I supposed to do? I offered them $100 for the female so they said I can have her. But what about the ones I am supposed to give back? I am going to spend a ton of money to give them back so they can live outside. I am really upset about all of this. Don't know what I am going to do.

Seriously sick over the dog hoarder situation!

As for Crash.. he is at the vet office now getting x-rays and such. I called and they said he will be ready to go home as soon as I get off work. I will find out exactly what is broken and how when I get to the vet office.

Well lets hope that I can get the dog hoarder to release the puppies to me and that Crash will be ok.

Dog Hoarder

What is a dog hoarder everyone keeps asking me..... Well a dog hoarder is someone that collects dogs. Some people collect butterfly pictures, some people collect Christmas stuff, a dog hoarder collects DOGS!!

And yes I know of one.

There is a women who has 5 dogs living in her house and 6 dogs living outside. At least that I know of. And this is after I took 4 dogs from her last year and placed them all in homes. I did take the other dogs and get them spayed / neutered BUT at the time I was doing this there was a mom with puppies. Living outside, chained to the dog house. I wasn't able to take the mom to get fixed because she was still nursing the puppies.

The puppies all ended up dieing... freezing to death. When the mom was finally ready to get spayed a month or so had passed and MY FAULT! I never followed up to get her fixed. Well I am an asshole because guess what?????

Mom dog has 6 puppies. Oh and mom is a black lab... like we need more of them.

Anyways, the dog hoarder's son called me asking for help to get the mom fixed. HOW THE HELL DID I FORGET TO GO BACK AND GET THE MOM!! UGH!! I am an idiot.

He also tells me that the mom has 6 puppies and they are keeping them all. I was like NO YOUR NOT!! That is stupid. WHY? After about 2 weeks of going back and forth with him I have them talked into letting me get the mom fixed as long as I give her back and taking 5 puppies. They want to keep the only female puppy.

Do you want to know why they want to keep the female puppy??? So, that they can hook her up the dog house with her mom! OMG!!!!!! Are you freaking kidding me? They want to take a 3 month old puppy and make it live outside.

Now here is the kicker... I HAVE A FREAKING HOME FOR IT!! So, I offered her $100 to give me the female puppy. I haven't heard back yet. I don't know what else to do.

So, Tonight night I am getting all 6 puppies and the mom. I am getting the mom fixed and all the puppies their shots. The puppies will then go into rescue who I am pretty sure will have homes for them within a week. She has people waiting for black lab puppies.

I have to give the mom back. I know it sucks she lives outside but she hasn't known anything else and they want her back. They feed her and water her but living outside just sucks. Poor dogs.

I am really hoping me offering her $100 for the female puppy does not bite me in the ass..... she is going to want money for all of them or something like that. Let's hope not. I really hope I can convenience her to give me the puppy.

I don't know what else to do. UGH!

Dogs are like childer; they act like the people who raise them!!

LETTERS TO A DOG.......

January 6
Dear Dog,
I saw you today for the first time, just a couple houses from my own. The school bus stopped to let out your kids, and your mom opened the front door to let you run out and greet them. You are a wiggly, bouncy and happy little puppy with a full belly and a shiny coat. Your kids grabbed you up, hugged you, held you and toted you inside. Your tail was wagging the entire time. I thought to my self, how sweet, what a way to end a long hard day. I spoke to your mom this evening and she said that they got you from the Animal Shelter, and the kids named you Lucky.

March 10
Dear Lucky,
I saw you today as I always do on my way home from work. You were already outside to greet the kids today, which seemed a little odd. The little girl got off the bus and shooed you away; she appeared to not want you jumping on her. The boy got off the bus and gave you a quick playful pat on the head, then smelled his hand and brushed you aside. You looked confused and sad, as you went to lie by the porch. You curled up in a tight ball on the cold ground and let out a huge sigh. My heart felt heavy that day.

March 21
Dear Lucky,
I saw you today. I was headed home, and the kids got off the bus, walked to the house, and you ran out as far as you could on your heavy chain to let them know you were there. The little girl ignored you, the little boy told you to be quiet, when you barked for his attention. My neighbor commented that they needed to do something with your barking because you keep them up at night. You had a bucket of water and a bowl of food, a relatively nice doghouse, but your eyes were sad and empty. I shook my head and let out a huge sigh.

April 30
Dear Lucky,
I worried for you today. You look thin, your chain heavy on your neck, your coat is dirty and falling out, you don't get up to do much anymore. Your bucket is turned over, and I have not seen your food bowl for a few days now. I spoke to the neighbor and asked about you. He said you still bark at night and he saw the man of the house throw something at you the other day as he scolded you. I shook my head in despair as I went back into my house.

June 4
Dear Lucky,
My heart sank today. I was headed home, and you weren't in your yard. A large part of me hoped you got away, another large part of me was frightened at all the other possibilities. I asked my neighbor about you, and he said your family went on vacation and sent you back to the Animal Shelter. I shook my head and cried for you as I went into my house.

June 5
Dear Dog,
I went to the shelter today. I found you huddled in the back of a cage that had a bucket, a bowl of food, and a blanket for you to lie on. You looked up at me as if you knew me, and my heart broke as I read your card. They did not even care enough to give them your name, and the card simply said, "male, neutered, Poodle. Owners did not want." I cried when a gentleman from the kennel said, "That's a sad one there. He came from here, you know, last Christmas. Guess they just got tired of him. He's too frightened, no one will adopt him." I went to the counter and told them I would be back tomorrow and please don't do anything just yet. They all kind of nodded like they heard that one before.

Dear Dog,
I brought you home today. You were scared and untrusting, but a small part of you somewhere allowed you to wag the tip of your tail when I told you that you were a good boy and that I loved you. I gave you a new name, "Happy", because you aren't and I hope that someday you will be. You had an accident on the floor, and when I came back to clean it up with paper towel you slunk down and whimpered as if the hand was coming for you. I tried to choke back the tears when I thought of what you must have gone through in the past six months. I reached out and patted you and your eyes closed and your body went limp at such a gentle gesture. "We're going to be all right," I told you. I showed you your food, and you ate voraciously, and you marveled at the treats and toys I got for you.

Dear Happy,
Good morning my best friend! You woke me, as always, popping out from under the covers on your side of the bed, licking my face to tell me it was time for our walk. We went through the living room and you sniffed what Santa left for us. I hugged you and said, "Last year you were a Christmas gift, now this year, these are all yours!" Your coat is shiny, your belly always full, and even though we found out at your first vet visit you had heart worms, you are healthy now. As we went out for our walk, we saw your old family in the front yard. They look at you each time as if they recognize you in a way, but you don't give them a second glance.

--- Then I believe both our hearts stopped as we saw the children emerge from the yard holding a small playful puppy. "Isn't she just precious? We got her from the animal shelter. Hope this one works out, the other dog we got from there was so much trouble." I sighed and refrained from pointing out that you were not the trouble. You looked up at me as if to say, "Thank you, mom." I kneeled down and whispered in your sweet ear, "No, it is I who thank you."

Broken Pelvis

Today was fun. I picked up the puggle puppies from the clinic after getting fixed and took them into work. YAY!!! PUPPIES AT WORK THE BEST EVER!!!

So, hopefully they will end up on a card soon :-)

Wolfie was adopted tonight and the other 6 are going back to Gloria's and they will pretty much be in homes before the end of the day tomorrow!! I have the feed room in my barn covered in news paper with the heater blasting and a big pillow and blanket all laid out for them. I am going to have a mess to clean up in the morning.. LOL!!

Bob K. is coming at 6pm to pick them up and drive them to Gloria... I am not looking forward to the mess in the morning from the puppies.

Gloria and I keep saying how do people do it, breed dogs that is? UGH!! SO MUCH WORK! but then I guess they probably don't really care about them and don't worry about them being clean, happy and healthy.

So, today is also transport day! I got a male JRT, I named him Crash. He was hit by a car and has a broken Pelvis. I feel so sorry for him.

I am not sure of the exact story but he was at the Scioto County Pound. A women felt sorry for him... can you blame her? And paid for him to get checked out by a vet.

The pound said it will heal on it's own but yikes! I am going to call my vet office tomorrow to get him in for X-rays. I just worry that he needs a pin or surgery or something. Poor guy.

They said to leave him on crate rest... not like he can really walk anyways. I did talk to my vet today and they said to just get him out twice a day for potty and make sure he is sleeping somewhere soft and warm. They said it would be about 5 weeks before it would be healed enough for him to be "normal"

I set him up in the office in the garage. I have two heater going in there for him and have him piled with blankets

Doggies going home!!!

Go home, go home, go home FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things are moving in the right direction :-)

Not sure if I told you but Lester got a forever home... a person I work with adopted him. They came over Monday 11/24 and picked him up and made it official by the end of last week.. ;-) Great home!!

Muppet was adopted on Friday. So, excited. I sent an email and called today so hopefully I will get an update soon. I worry when I don't get updates.. LOL!!

Saturday 2 of Jenny's puppies went to their forever homes. So, far they are doing great. The other two puppies are Christmas presents for the family so they aren't going home till the week of Christmas.

Sunday Jenny, the mom was picked up to go to her forever home.

Carlton officially was adopted tonight. Now, that is so exciting. The lady that adopted him LOVES him so much. So, awesome.

Sassy is going to her forever home on Saturday.

Someone is coming over on Saturday to see Kyle. I am pretty excited about that. She seems so nice and has a trainer to come and take care of the dogs for 1 hour everyday. Pretty awesome! She said her dog likes to play so Kyle is a perfect match. This sounds like a great home.. Kyle will be so happy!

Saturday Munch was taken by a great family for a trail. They already decided they are keeping her. THEY LOVE HER!! The already sent me pictures. I will try to get adopted pictures up tomorrow ;-)

Oh Friday night Debbie picked up Ricky for a foster to adopt and LOVES HIM!! So, Ricky has finally found his FOREVER HOME!! YAY!!

Quinn the new dog I got on Friday... well he went to Gloria first... I got him Sunday. Kim and Bob took him to home to see how he does. Kim is going to have her parents check him out. He is a really nice dog and I think they will like him. So, hopefully Quinn has already found himself a home... FINGERS CROSSED!!

Man, I have been busy.. LOL!!

Ok, I think that is the update on everyone.

So, I have Oakley, Dottie, Regal and Titus up for adoption... oh and I am suppose to get Crash the dog that was hit by a car... hopefully I can get him soon.

I think I updated on everyone... if I missed someone let me know... LOL!!

Where did the week go?

WOW I have been busy, sad thing is I feel like I haven't gotten anything done. LOL!! Don't you hate that?

Well so for some good news. Tuesday was fun having Carlton at work. Tuesday night my fiance, Tyler was at my house working on stuff... we are remodeling my house... that is a whole different topic for a blog..LOL!! Anyways, when he left to go home he left his dog at my house and took Carlton. LOL!! Then I received text message that night and then next morning about things Carlton was doing. It was pretty funny.

Wednesday I received a message from my friend June that she had someone looking for a lap dog. I mentioned Carlton. That evening April came over and meet Carlton. I am sure at first she was a little taken back because he is rough looking around the edges but really that isn't his fault. She took him home to "foster to adopt" him. Needless to say I have received emails both yesterday and today about how much they LOVE that dog... LOL!!

Seriously though who wouldn't?? Happy Ending YAY!!

Then last night I received the best application ever!! With some of my dogs I get pictures of the ideal home for the dog and I wish and wish to find a home like the one I created in my head.. does that make sense? Well I saw this application and was so excited! It was an application for Munch. Mom, Dad, 3 kids (2 are boys), another male JRT and a fenced in yard. I mean really couldn't be more perfect!! So, Munch is leaving tomorrow for a foster to adopt!! YAY!!

Then last night a family I have been speaking with about getting dog decided they are coming 3 hours from Michigan to come meet and hopefully adopt Muppet. YAY!!! I am so excited about that because I was getting depressed that he was living at my house. I want puppies to grow up in a home not in foster care.

Ricky who I got back on Monday after being adopted for nearly 8 months.... is going to Debbie's for a trial. Debbie adopted Ed about this time last year. She is a great home and lives very similar to the way the women who gave up Ricky lives so that should be an easy transition for him.

The lady that fostered Sassy for me about a month ago said she wanted to adopt Sassy so I am excited about that. We will get all the details worked out for next week. Sassy needs a special home because she is deaf... granted I think she is a good enough dog that she can go to anyone but not everyone wants a practically deaf dog. :-(

I am waiting on the adoption fee to be mailed for Barney who is now named Jack.. LOL!! So, that will be an official adoption here really soon.

AND Jenny, the mom of the puppies is getting adopted on Sunday! AND the puppies should all have homes by Saturday.
Holy cow.. busy week.

Of course I save a few this week too.. LOL!! Kate my foster home in Columbus just went and picked up a cutie named Scooter. He is the product of someone dieing and asking a family member to take the dog who really didn't want the dog :-( So, we have him!

I am also getting a dog named Quinn... he was supposed to die today but we saved him :-)

And next Thursday with any luck I will be getting a dog with a broken pelvis. He was hit by a car.

Dog at work

Today I brought Carlton into work. It is pretty funny, he is just sitting on a chair in my office hanging out. I am going to a local high school, Magnificat to do a presentation about dog rescue so Carlton in my prop :-)

Carlton is one of the ones I picked up at the beginning of November on my dog rescue run where I hit up three pounds and rescued..... I think 6 or 7 dogs... LOL!! I can't remember how many in total. I took three home with me...Carlton, Dottie and Barney. I think I am going to have to go back to my own post to remember how many dogs I picked up that day... LOL!!

Anyways, Carlton is the one that was badly abused. His owners kicked in his front teeth so the poor little guy doesn't have teeth in the front. Besides looking a little rough you would never know he was abused... he is just so sweet. He actually lives in my house full time.

So, he has been hanging out on my office chair all day. Pretty much just sleeping. I guy named Paul walked into my office and was talking to me. He didn't even see Carlton in the chair. Paul is a big guy and when Carlton woke up I think it scared him b/c he barked... it was SOOO FUNNY!! I am sure my Executive Director didn't appreciate it though... he isn't a fan of dogs, let alone dogs in the office but he tolerates my craziness.. LOL!!

Here is a picture of Carlton sitting in my office... and YES that is an Ohio State Jacket that he wore in this morning.. I didn't want him to be cold
:-)
